  Mayor of New York City asks Company to transmit fire alarm signals directly to Fire Department headquarters.

Tiffany & Co. Signs Service contract for alarm service.

Consolidated Fire Alarm Co. in Philadelphia is acquired.


  Watkins Automatic Signal Telegraph Co. is incorporated in NYC.

Corporate name changed to Automatic Fire Alarm and Extinguisher Co, Ltd.   Automatic Fire Alarm and Extinguisher Co., Ltd. changes name to Automatic Fire Alarm Co.   Commences fire alarm service to RH Macy, & Co., at NYC Herald Square location.

United Alarm acquired, manufacturer of "aero" fire detection systems.   Consolidated Fire Alarm Co., and Boston Automatic Fire Alarm Co. consolidated with Automatic Fire Alarm Co. of NYC.   Automatic Fire Alarm Co. becomes a public company.

Corporate name changed to AFA Protective Systems, Inc. to reflect expanded services capability.   Centrak, the first multiplex signal transmission system, is developed by AFA.   AFA enters the high-rise life safety market in NYC using enhances Centrak II system.

NY Central Station becomes one of the first computerized central stations in USA.   Computerized Central Station opens in Linden, NJ.   Expands security operations to Long Island, NY.

Acquires ND Security Systems and merges it into Boston's computerized Central Station operation.

Moves to new corporate headquarters in Syosset, Long Island, NY.   Establishes satellite Central Station in Syosset, NY   Moves NJ operation to new building in North Brunswick, NJ.

  ARC Alarm Inc. is merged into Boston's Central Station Operation.

Fully staffed, computerized Central Station commences operation in Syosset, NY.
